Hi, I’m Kemie.
I’ve been drawing letters for as long as I can remember. Growing up, I spent hours copying alphabets from Letraset catalogues onto my school notebooks just because I liked the way they looked. When I discovered digital design in the late 1990s, drawing fonts was the irresistible next step.
My first website, Pixilate, launched in 1998 as a place to share the fonts, icons and other things I was making for fun. Somehow that hobby stuck. Decades later, I’m still designing type.
Today I split my time between type design and UX design. Working on digital products has taught me that the best design isn’t just beautiful—it has to work. That same philosophy shapes my fonts. Whether it’s a playful script, a display face or a large text family, I want it to be distinctive, useful and enjoyable to use.
Originally from Mexico and now based in Sweden, I design with more than one language—and more than one design tradition—in mind. Most of my typefaces include extensive language support, because good typography should travel well.
Thanks for visiting. I hope you find something here that earns a place in your next project.
